The Google Pixel half-dozen had a bit of a crude launch, what with the screen flickering bug, battery drain, and other bugs seemingly affecting the phone. Thankfully one of the more serious problems, which saw the phone ghost calling random contacts, at present has a set.

This is according to a Pixel customs director on the r/GooglePixel subreddit, which explained updating to the latest version of the Google app (12.43.xviii or higher) volition fix this problem.

This particular consequence is one of the more annoying Pixel flaws, with users finding their devices would randomly call their contacts at all times of day. Initially the simply prepare seemed to involve disabling the 'Hey Google' setting, though that obviously means people couldn't and so summon Google Assistant with their voice.

One Reddit user even claimed to have woken upwardly to observe their phone was in the middle of a call with a contact they'd never phoned before. All while the telephone screen remained off, and Google Assistant seemingly didn't receive whatsoever wake-up commands.

Upon checking my own Pixel 6 Pro, I found that the Google app has automatically been updated to version 12.44.23.29. That means Google Banana won't be randomly calling whatever of my contacts whenever I plow my back.

You tin check which version of the Google app your own phone is running past heading to the Google Play shop and tapping the arrow by What's new. You'll then exist able to see the version number at the bottom of the screen under App Info. Of course, like any other app, if an update is available information technology'll say so at the pinnacle of the screen.

It'southward always a good thought to go on all your apps up to engagement, along with your telephone, but in this case any Google Banana fans don't really accept much choice. Permit's just hope we're going to get more than Pixel vi fixes in the coming weeks, including all those pesky screen issues; apparently, that's not coming until the Pixel'due south December update.
